About

Last Laugh Creative grew out of design: samsara. I decided a while back that I wanted to form an agency, focusing on the needs of larger clients with other creatives. Then I decided, maybe not.

So Last Laugh Creative is still a one-man shop and I’m still Tom Jackson. Yes, this limits how many projects I can take on at one time (although multi-tasking is a skill I have long-since mastered) but it does mean that your website will always be worked on by me and not farmed out to some junior apprentice. And those other creatives are never far away for advice or help if the situation calls for it.

The circumstances of how I arrived at this point are no different than anyone else’s – hard work, luck, disappointment and that capricious entity we call Life. Suffice to say, I consider myself lucky: I enjoy what I do, I get to meet many interesting people and my heavy lifting days are pretty much over. Hard to beat that.

More than anything, it’s the creativity that appeals to me. I come from a writing background; decidedly non-commercial (and decidedly non-lucrative) but enjoyable none-the-less: fiction, theater, humor, radio, cable television, film.

Loved it all and couldn’t make a living at it. Then the Internet came along and the rest is (my) history.

I’m passionate about jazz, theater, Eastern philosophy, photography, hiking, and baseball – in no particular order.

Of course, that’s today. I’m anxious to find out what will fascinate me tomorrow.
